Lake Pavilion
Vaitarna, Nasik, India
The Vaitarna Pavilion is designed as a key node along the public pathway that follows the lake’s bank, enhancing its usability and providing a serene spot for rest and reflection. Two decks are strategically positioned to capture important views at the lake’s edge.
Constructed using locally sourced stone from the site, the pavilion is firmly anchored to the site and reflects the geological character of the area. The roof and screens made from cane sticks traditionally used in the surrounding villages, integrates local building practices. This choice of materials reinforces the pavilion's connection to its context, creating a structure that is both integrated with its environment and culturally meaningful.
